Rhode Island Community Profiles...

"Rhode Island Community Profiles: Demographics, Substance Use Consequences & Risk and Protective Factors (2000 - 2008)"

RI Community Profiles (2000 - 2008) describe all 39 Rhode Island municipalities, 4 counties, and the entire state in terms of substance use-related indicators and, where available, corresponding trends since 2000. These epidemiologic profiles are based on data provided by multiple state agencies and have three primary components: (a) data summarizing demographic characteristics of each community and substance use consequences; (b) data summarizing levels of substance use, as self reported by high-school students within each community; and (c) data summarizing risk and protective factors relevant to substance use. read more

Flu Stress...

Each year there is a flu season but, obviously, this year is turning out to be a quite different experience. We are in the midst of a flu pandemic which can be very stressful. Our ability to cope with pandemic flu news and to take the actions we need to protect ourselves and loved ones depends on how well we manage our stress and anxiety. The good news is there are actions we can take now to increase our ability to cope in order that we are stronger, more resilient and better able to handle any stressful time in our lives.
